The Fox 38 fork is the body-built version of its little Fox 36 sister, the benchmark model in Enduro, but optimised for 160 to 180 mm travel.
The forks feature a number of innovations: bleeders to balance internal and external pressures, air/oil ramps for better air pressure management and optimised lubrication of the upper seals, a new hoop for even greater rigidity, and a floating axle system to ensure perfect alignment between fork and hub.
The stem-pivot-stem assembly has also been optimised by the brand, with the fork featuring an oblong tapered steerer tube with a differentiated internal diameter, a stem whose diameter has been increased to 58mm, and 38mm steerers. As you can see, the rigidity of the Fox 38 will not disappoint.
On the spring side, the Fox 38 uses the brand's signature Float air system, with a number of improvements to increase progressiveness and reduce friction.
On the hydraulic side, the Fox 38 benefits from the Grip X2, which is the most adjustable, smoothest and softest lowering cartridge ever created by Fox. Riders enjoy the benefits of sitting higher in the travel while the tyres stay glued to the ground, with increased traction through corners. It gives you the confidence to push the limits of downhill and enduro riding, while reducing rider fatigue. Grip X2 is the winning difference.

Float damping:
The FLOAT air shock developed for the 32, 34 and 40 forks is lighter and reduces the force required to trigger it. It offers excellent sensitivity over small bumps, whatever the rider and whatever the pressure setting.
Similar to FLOAT shock absorbers, the FLOAT system features negative and positive chambers that automatically balance each other. This provides the right pressure for every rider. The progressiveness of the damping curve can be adjusted by means of air volume spacers, so mountain bikers can fine-tune the behaviour of the air shock.
Kabolt X axle:
A lightweight bolt-on floating axle, the Kabolt X reduces grams while increasing torsional rigidity thanks to a sleeveless, one-sided clamp bolt design. The frame alignment reduces unwanted friction between the upper and lower fork legs, resulting in much smoother suspension movements throughout the entire travel range.
Grip X2 settings:
Low-speed compression (LSC): 18 clicks.
High-speed compression (HSC): 8 clicks.
Low-speed rebound (LSR): 16 clicks.
High-speed rebound (HSR): 8 clicks.
