Description

From the beginning, we understood that integrated headsets posed a unique challenge in that the bearings are not pressed into a cup and rest freely in the frame. When the bearings are not firmly pressed into a cup, they shift and move, quickly losing their preload. As the preload decreases, the bearings are more susceptible to squeaking, damage and failure. It's a problem we know how to solve.

Introducing our patented GripLock™ bearing set. The GripLock™ preloads the headset independently of the tightening on the pivot, allowing it to maintain its preload far better than the competition and be impervious to the damaging effects of load spikes from hard hits and hard braking. This means smoother steering, no more squeaks, and a longer lasting headset.

Our GripLock™ design also takes the guesswork out of preloading a headset, as the preload force of the bearings is independent of the clamping force. Our headsets can be preloaded to a torque specification.
