They love it!
The single chainring is obviously easy to use: no front derailleur, considerably reduced weight, fewer moving components that pick up dirt and can create jams, and high chain safety, without unnecessary chainring overlap. A perfect solution for gravel courses.
The two cranks made of aluminium are fitted with AISI 630 steel half axles: as on all Campagnolo Ekar GT groupsets, the ingenious combination of materials results in components that are still light, but with maximum efficiency and strength.
The new ProTech™ technology combines the two half-axles inside the bottom bracket, with a single strong screw. The oversized stainless steel bearing is located on the crank, fixed to the half-axle, for maximum bearing efficiency and strength and to be easily accessible for inspection and maintenance, without the need to remove the cups.
There are five chainring options: 36T, 38T, 40T, 42T, 44T. Their optimised design ensures efficient transmission and maximum chain reliability.
The light, strong 7075 aluminium chainrings are easily interchangeable: simply unscrew them from the four crank arms without having to dismantle the crankset. The four arms, symmetrically arranged for optimum load distribution, have a BCD of 104 mm. Changing chainrings is a simple and effective way of changing gear when you're tackling different types of course.
The Ekar GT crankset has three possible crank lengths - 170, 172.5 and 175 mm - to suit all riders and all types of bike. For some gravel bikes with low bottom brackets, shorter cranks are most commonly used to avoid ground contact on rough, unpredictable terrain.
A 151mm Q-factor offers a comfortable and efficient pedalling style, whatever your size.
