AbsoluteBlack Narrow Wide Oval Chainring Direct Mount designed for TRS E-thirteen cranks only.

This is the most premium chainring on the market. Oval chainrings do not produce more force, they increase pedaling efficiency through better transmission of force. This means that you don't necessarily get further by pedaling harder. But the less force you lose, the more energy you keep, allowing you to pedal harder when you need to and thus reducing your general fatigue. That's why you can ride faster, longer and further with oval chainrings.

Studies conducted by the University of Primorska, Slovenia, show significant differences between the use of AbsoluteBlack Oval chainrings and conventional round chainrings. It is proven that using an oval chainring can provide up to a 9% increase in pedal stroke efficiency, up to 7% less oxygen consumption, 15% less breathing and up to a 10% decrease in heart rate.

HOW TO ASSEMBLE THE E*THIRTEEN OVAL CHAINRING :

First you will need the E*Thirteen BB installation/removal tool. With this tool, you simply open the nut that holds the chainring to the crank. It is best to clamp this tool in a vice and turn the crank counter-clockwise (looking up).
Once the nut is removed, remove the old plate and re-grease the crank splines. Place the new oval plate with the convex side towards the crank, ensuring that the small recess (located next to the spline interface) is aligned with the center of the crank arm. This is crucial to achieve the correct position of the chainring.
Now replace the locking ring. As you will not be able to use a torque tool, please follow the steps below: Screw the locking ring in to the point where it starts to offer more resistance (as it is now touching the platter).
From this point on, turn the crank arm approximately 90 degrees. This will give you a suitable locking force of 30 Nm.
