Description

Developed in collaboration with World Cup mechanics and world champions. Peaty's Tubeless Holeshot preventive is filled with biodegradable fibers and sealing particles to ensure a fast, solid seal. Using the latest fast-acting latex, our water-based sealant is ammonia-free, non-hazardous and lasts up to 6 months in the tire in temperate climates*. It doesn't clump in the tire and washes off easily.

Our biodegradable fibers and particles bind with the fast-acting latex to create a clot (like platelets in blood) to quickly and effectively seal holes and tears up to 6 mm.

We've been continually testing and refining different sealant formulations since the day we first launched our tubeless sealant in 2017. Over the past few years, we've worked with everyone from world cup mechanics and everyday riders to professional product testers, testing over 23 different formulations, with countless revisions, to develop a new sealant formula.

The biggest change to holeshot sealant is the addition of biofibers. The fibers interlock with the particles and latex to create a faster, longer-lasting seal. Our original sealant did not contain fibers. Indeed, the most common - and easiest - way to achieve a fast seal is to use microplastic fibers. These are very cheap and easy to obtain, but they are very harmful to the environment, so we avoided them. It took us years to find a biodegradable fiber that seals the holes well and lasts a long time in the tire. To achieve a good seal, you need fibers of a very specific size. After years of testing and development, we finally found a fiber that delivers incredible sealing performance, while remaining very durable.

We've also made the sealant slightly thinner, to ease initial placement, and added higher concentrations of sealing compounds - to work with the fibers and pads to give a better / longer lasting seal. Sounds easy, just add more sealants, doesn't it? The problem is, the more sealants you add, the less room there is for other ingredients. Adding more of one ingredient throws the other ingredients out of balance, making the product more unstable. Developing a sealant that flows easily, seals quickly, operates over a good range of operating temperatures and remains highly durable has been a long and difficult journey. But we've finally done it!

The bright turquoise bits we had in our original sealant formula may look like a bit of a mess stuck to the inside of your tire's casing - but they worked really well to plug the holes. We tried lots of biodegradable additives in different shapes, sizes and thicknesses to keep the chaff away... And we tried to remove them completely... But in the end, the original size, shape and material always worked best. So we simply changed them to black so that they'd blend in with the tire carcass and be much less messy if sprayed all over.

Use

Shake bottle vigorously before each use to ensure even distribution of fibers and particles.
Rinse off old tire sealant and dry thoroughly. For new tires, degrease, rinse and dry the inner casing to remove release agents and other contaminants.
Place your tire on the rim and inflate it first without sealant, using a track pump, inflator or compressor to get the tire bead fully onto the rim.
Deflate the tire and, with the valve in the three o'clock position, use the flexible injection hose supplied to inject the desired amount of sealant directly through the de-inked valve.
Re-insert the valve core and reinflate the tire to the desired pressure.
Distribute the sealant inside the tire by rotating the wheel and tapping the tire on the ground.
Listen for air leaks and rotate the wheel so that the sealant flows inside the tire to the desired area. Continue until you hear no more air loss †
Wash off any excess sealant from the outside of the tire or rim with water.
Check tire pressure and drive!
