The ultralight, semi-freestanding FreeLite is designed for people who want to lighten the backpack without sacrificing volume or functionality in their tent and get the most out of their three-season adventures.
The interior: The groundsheet remains rectangular (no shrinkage at the feet like most other tents) and the interior height is 1 meter (7.6 cm gained), but it has lost 170 grams compared to the previous version of the FreeLite one person. The bowl-type waterproof groundsheet protects from the elements, and the lightweight mosquito net fabric tent body provides excellent ventilation. The tent door is not curved. The new zippers are more robust and easy to use with one hand. What's more, they end up in the same place once closed: you always know where to place your hand to open the door, even in the dark. Convenient new electronics pockets feature corner pass-through for cords. Hanging storage spaces are perfect for headlamps, glasses and other items you want to keep close at hand.
The exterior: The semi-freestanding design allows for quick and easy assembly. Super strong DAC NFL tent poles, DuraShield? waterproof coating and taped seams protect against the elements. Flysheet with cutout saves weight. It incorporates a large vestibule to store anything you don't want to keep inside. The vestibule door allows for easy passage, and features a StayDry? rain gutter that prevents water from dripping onto you and your gear.
