Description

These VéloOrange Retro Cage MK II bottle cages are based on an old French model from the 1940s or early 1950s. In our opinion, they are the most beautiful bottle cages of all time.

The Retro is an ordinary one-handed bottle cage; you insert the bottle as you would into any other bottle cage, but it holds the bottle very securely due to its spring-loaded shape. You can spread the holder for an oversized bottle or compress it inwards to better fit (for example) a metal water bottle.

Retro bottle holders are handmade from a single length of 3mm stainless steel rod and then electro-polished. If you examine it closely from all angles, you will see that it is indeed handmade.

There are two versions of our bottle cage. The "Type II" has a tab on the back to securely hold small 18oz metal bottles and regular plastic bottles. The "Type I" has no tab, this is the traditional design and is the best option if you are using larger metal water bottles like the Klean Kanteen 27oz.
