From trail running to small rock runs to mountaineering in a variety of terrains, the Distance 8L Pack is designed to redefine boundaries and offer unparalleled versatility. This hybrid backpack/gilet combines wearable technology with our extensive knowledge of mountain packs. It carries the gear you need while remaining lightweight and comfortable to move in fast-paced style. Made of 10x Ripstop UHMWP polyethylene - the same ultra-strong fiber used in our climbing quickdraws and Ultralight Camalots. The Distance material offers a strength-to-weight ratio 10 times that of steel but is still so light it floats in water. The harness system on the shoulder straps features our Edge Taping technology for a seamless edge connection.

The harness system incorporates an adjustable elastic drawstring compression system that enhances the pack's support during trail running, hiking and climbing. This backpack/gilet also includes two water bottle pockets compatible with two BD HydraPac soft water bottles (sold separately) and a Deploy pocket dedicated to storing the BD Deploy Wind Shell. The main compartment of the Distance has a top opening like a duffel bag with a storage pocket for essential accessories.
The mesh divider can accommodate a lanyard or a water pouch compatible with hydration system sleeves. On the outside of the pack, Distance 8 includes two ice axe holders and two Z-Pole holders. Two expandable front pockets provide additional storage for a few supplies or gear. These features make the Distance 8 an ultra-versatile pack for moving through the mountains in fast, lightweight mode.
