The Triban team designed these pants for cyclists who ride in all weathers while bikepacking or cycling. Treat yourself to excellent protection against the weather elements! This one will protect you from the rain, wind and cold for riding long distances during autumn and winter!

DESIGN CHOICE: Based on our work on the RC900 rain jacket, our desire was to design a complete rain protection outfit, breathable, sporty and compactable, so that it would be suitable for cycling trips over one or more days, all guaranteeing comfort on the bike and off the saddle. We have therefore designed these overtrousers in this sense with the same design directions as the jacket: excellent waterproof / breathability ratio, sporty cut for long pedaling and compactable

COMPACITY: Our desire was to design a sporty, waterproof, breathable and compactable over-trouser so that it is suitable for cycling trips over one or more days, while guaranteeing a comfortable fit ready for the leg to pedal.
Folded up in its waterproof pocket, it can be easily placed in a bikepacking bag or a small bag, the overtrousers remain protected in the event that the bag gets wet.

CUT: The cut as close as possible to the leg allows you to pedal without discomfort by limiting potential friction (saddle or bag).
These over-trousers will therefore be ideal to wear over short or short bib shorts depending on the season and on wet or cold outings.

BREATHABILITY OF THE OVER-TROUSERS: To reduce perspiration at the lower abdomen/crotch, we have chosen to use the airflow generated by movement by adding zips along the shins as well as on the inside of the leg allowing the air to enter and exit on the areas less exposed to projections.

COMPONENT BREATHABILITY (RET): To find out if a fabric is breathable, its RET evaporative resistance is measured (test based on ISO 11092 standard). The lower the resistance, the more the fabric allows water vapor generated by the body to escape, and the more breathable it is.
? RET <6: extremely breathable, suitable for the most intense efforts
? RET 6 to 12: very breathable, suitable for moderate effort
? RET 12 to 20: moderately breathable, not pleasant in case of effort
? RET >20: not very breathable, unsuitable for exercise

WATERPROOFING OF THE FABRIC: The resistance of a fabric to water pressure is measured, expressed in mm of water column (test based on the ISO 811 standard). The higher the pressure, the more waterproof the fabric.
Here are the waterproof values for the 900 overtrousers: 15,000 mm before washing, 10,000 mm after 10 washes.

WATERPROOFING OF THE OVERPANTS: Not only is the fabric important for the waterproofness of the product, but so is the construction of the overpants. On this RC900 product, all the seams are sealed and we have chosen YKK water-repellent zips coupled with protective flaps.

MEMBRANE OR COATED COMPONENT?: The RC900 overtrousers offer a 3-layer membrane component.
The membrane is a kind of very thin micro-perforated plastic film (polyurethane) which makes the component waterproof while remaining breathable. It has the advantage of being more flexible, lighter, more durable and more breathable than a component with coating.
The coating is similar to a paint applied inside the fabric which makes the component waterproof. It is less expensive than a membrane, and requires a liner.
