The Tanpan makes Shimano 11 speed road shifters work with 11 speed MTB rear derailleurs.

Break down boundaries and break down walls: the Tanpan brings the range and security of Shimano MTB rear derailleurs. That means greater gear range for bigger adventures, better chain security for rougher terrain, and lighter weight and reduced complexity for everyday riding.

To deliver these benefits, Tanpan amplifies the pull of the road shifter cable to allow seamless communication with mountain bike derailleurs. The result is ideal for riders looking to convert their road, gravel, cyclocross or city bike to the simplicity and lightness of a single chainring - or for those whose riding requires a lower gearing than a conventional dual chainring. With the addition of a clutch-equipped Shadow+ rear derailleur, the Tanpan offers unmatched chain security for Shimano road drivetrains.

The 17-gram Tanpan installs in moments, fitting neatly over the rear derailleur, and an indexed barrel allows for quick and easy cable adjustment. Each Tanpan is CNC machined in the USA by Wolf Tooth and features precision stainless steel hardware and a sealed cartridge bearing.

Compatibilities

Compatible with most road, gravel and CX bikes.
The Deore M5100 rear derailleur is compatible with the Tanpan 11.
The Tanpan 11 is compatible with Shimano 11 speed road shifters and optimized for Shimano 11 speed mountain bike derailleurs (including the new Dura Ace 9100).
The Tanpan 11 is designed to be mounted directly on the cable stops without adjustment of Shimano rear derailleurs.
Note: Always follow the manufacturer's published derailleur tooth capacity specifications. A 1.1mm diameter derailleur cable is recommended and a new cable is always a good idea.
