Maintenance of the DT Swiss Ratchet freewheel body
However simple it may be, this maintenance operation will nevertheless require a minimum of attention. Especially when it comes to reassembling and lubricating. But if you take good care of it, your cassette body will DT Swiss Ratchet will be back for more!
1/ Unclip the adapter
Unclip the adapter using pliers and a cloth (so as not to mark it during removal). To do this, it is ideal to have a soft bit like Park Tool AV-4.
2/ Grease
Carefully remove the cassette body by simply pulling on it, being careful not to lose the top spring.
5/ Grease the ratchets
Grease both rocks lightly with DT Swiss special grease. Tip: Do not apply too much grease to the rocks, otherwise they may stick.
6/ Reassemble the assembly
Reassemble each component in the correct order. For the first spring, large coil at the bottom for the wheel side; and for the top spring, the large coil on the cassette body side. As for the two aluminium rocks, make sure they are aligned notch to notch.
