Choosing your Oakley sunglasses
Founded in 1975 by Jim JANNARD, the name Oakley originates from the founder's dog. Oakley is now the leader in eyewear for sportsmen and women, especially for cyclists.
Oakley only started designing eyewear in 1984 with the cylindrical O-Frame model that would later become the flagship logo of the oval brand. It was not until in the 1990s, when Greg Lemond stood on the podium three times wearing a pair of Oakleys, that sportsmen and women began to take an interest in the brand.
What makes Oakley eyewear so special?
Oakley is best known today for its high quality lenses and sporty design. One of the brand's first special features is the Prizm lens technology which makes the world more colourful and vivid and increases depth perception. The glasses are particularly appealing to sportsmen and women from beginners to professionals thanks to the unobtainium technology that allows a good grip even when sweating. The oval brand also aims to make sport more enjoyable with its glasses, which is why it ensures that each model has a largely bearable weight. Oakley owes the lightness of its products to the "O-Matter" technology, which is an extremely light and comfortable material that is resistant to impact and weather conditions.
