How to overhaul a Fox shock absorber?
A small suspicious trace has appeared on your Fox shock absorber, or you fear that it will happen. Then it's time to change your suspension seals. We're helping you with some explanations.
1/ Required tools
Degreaser / Tip / High pressure pump / Replacement seals / Fox fluid.
2/ Deflate
Deflate the air chamber of the shock absorber.
3/ Unscrew the body
Unscrew the damper body by holding it in a vice.
4/ Remove the seals
Then remove the seals from the body with a sharp object (small screwdriver or similar).
5/ Remove the seals
Remove the seals on the damper section.
6/ Replace the seals
Replace the new seals one by one, starting with the first small white ring, then the black seal, and then the second white ring. Finally, install the black wiper seal.
7/ Replace the seals
Do the same for the damper part.
8/ Lubricate the seals
Using the Fox Fluid supplied, lubricate the seals you have just fitted to the body and damper.
9/ Reassemble the shock absorber
You can now reassemble your damper by screwing the two parts together.
10/ Re-inflate the shock absorber
Re-inflate your shock absorber to the correct pressure, checking that there are no leaks. You can do this by looking at the needle on your pressure gauge to see if it is dropping in pressure or not.
