What is a MTB Cassette?

A cassette is the cluster of sprockets situated on the rear hub. It is a very important part in your bike's drivetrain who will wear with time so it is important to keep it clean and lubricated.
A MTB cassette will in most cases have 8, 9, 10 or 11 sprockets. To know how many sprockets you need, check the amount of gears you have in your transmission.
A MTB cassette will vary in number of sprockets but also in size: the number of teeth may vary from one cassette to another.
For example, a cassette sized as 11-36t will have 11 teeth on the smallest sprocket and 36 teeth on the largest sprocket.
On a MTB, the cassette have a large range of sprockets sizes for climbing and tough terrain.
