Bicycle cranksets

The bicycle cranksets are made up of one, two or three chain rings, two cranks that support the pedals and a bottom bracket that connects the cranks between them.

The chain rings are made of aluminium, titanium, steel or carbon.

How to choose a bicycle crankset?

The choice of your bike crankset will depend on your practice:

  • For mountain bikes (especially DG and Free ride), mono-cranksets are increasingly used, whereas for road bikes, the cranksets are usually compact, double or triple (the three chain rings are very useful to facilitate climbing passes).
  • It will be necessary to adapt the size of the cranks to the cyclist's size.
