Complete bike group: essential component of the bike

The road bike group is the combination of transmission and brakes. It includes the crankset, the bottom bracket, the cranks at the end of which are attached the pedals, the front derailleur and the rear derailleur, the chain, the cogset, the speed levers and the brakes.
It's thanks to the bicycle group that the cyclist's power is transmitted to the bike to propel it forward. Three main brands share this market: Shimano, Sram and Campagnolo.

Shimano, Sram or Campagnolo group : how to choose?

Choosing a road bike group is the guarantee of having the best possible functioning on your bike, and find the right quality/price ratio. Brands often offer a wide range with accessible groups like Shimano Tiagra up to the high-end with the Shimano Ultegra or Dura-Ace or even Super Record at Campagnolo.

You will have to choose your complete road group in a compact, double or triple chain wheel according to your practice :

The double chain wheel is for cyclists with a good level, who are rather looking for performance.
The triple chain wheel is reassuring for passes and sections with high inclination percentages because it allows varied reactions to the environment.
The compact makes it almost possible to reach the same developments as a triple chain wheel and will be less heavy.

Choose the cogset on your complete road group depending on your practice and the scope of development you want to adopt. Use a small cogset to ride on flat courses and a cogset with more cogwheels for the mountain passes.
