Jamie - Great track shoes!

I have not had a set of spikes for a long time. I have been focused on distance/road running for several decades. Recently started doing structured track workouts. Even for these used road shoes. However, several were using spikes. I wanted the speed, traction and lightweight of spikes but also at leas some of the cushion of the road shoes. I researched quite a few brands and Cielo FlyX got great reviews in all of these categories-well deserved, they are superb in all counts!! My first outing was a set of 8x600 at fairly hard pace. Super comfortable, great feel, plenty of spring, light but that bit of cushion that is good for the feet, ankles and joints. These are them, don't look further if want either short or longer distance spikes.

When it comes to cushioning, Hoka has set itself a strict rule: "the more, the better".

In compliance with the most stringent World Athletics standards, the new Cielo FLYX shakes things up with 25 mm of high-resilience PEBA foam for full rebound.

The brand uses a composite plate that acts both as a propulsion plate in the midsole and as a spike plate on the outsole.

Added to this is an ultra-breathable technical mesh upper, to offer an outstanding competition spike, suitable for the 1,500 m as well as the 10,000 m, and every distance in between.
