Designed for the world's fastest athletes, the Maxfly 2 is back in the starting blocks. This shoe for the 100 and 400 meters (including hurdles) combines an ultra-aggressive feel with the responsiveness of an Air Zoom unit to propel the fastest male and female sprinters on the planet. Nike has revisited the base and upper compared to the previous version, to boost the speed of the Air Zoom unit as you race towards the finish line. This special model takes its inspiration from The Armory in New York, home to athletes of all levels.
Behind the Design
Nike was inspired by the color of The Armory's original oval track for the upper. Green details recall The Armory's infield in the middle of the track. Blue accents pay homage to the athletes' warm-up areas. The red along the insoles and outsole is inspired by The Armory logo. And the checkerboard print recalls the venue's iconic ceiling.
Built for speed
Lighter and more responsive than the previous version, the carbon fiber Flyplate adopts a shape and rigidity designed to deliver an exceptional feeling of propulsion. It helps you stay on your toes and minimize deceleration.
Zoom, Zoom!
The Air Zoom unit in the forefoot has two chambers, so you feel propulsion and stability from start to finish.
Stability on straights
Nike has removed the two spikes in the middle of the sole of the original Maxfly, and raised the platform on the side of the big toe. The spikes provide greater stability on straights and bends.
Impeccable support
Nike Flyweave uppers for a perfect fit that adapts to all foot shapes.
