What to do if you are in between bike sizes?
If you are on the edge of two different bike sizes, don't worry, you'll probably be ok on either size (rather than thinking that one size will be awful and the other will fit). Indeed, bikes are adjustable: the seatpost can slide up and down, the saddle can move backwards and forwards and you can even switch out parts like the stem for different sized ones to help the bike fit better.
Finding out whether or not you should pick a bigger or a smaller frame is sometimes as simple as personal preference, but there are a few simple ways to work out which might suit best:
- If you’re flexible, you might prefer a shorter head tube, so the smaller size might work out better for you. You can use a longer stem to make the reach more comfortable.
- On a bigger bike, the reach to the handlebars will be longer. This means that if you have proportionally longer arms, you might be more comfortable on a bigger frame.

The Slash 8 is an enduro mountain bike designed to be ridden hard again and again. It's based on a high-pivot platform with 170 mm of travel front and rear. This configuration enhances grip on intense uphill climbs and establishes stability as you head back downhill. The wheel mix of 29" front and 27.5" rear preserves playful behavior. This bike comes with a Shimano XT drivetrain, so you'll enjoy crisp gear changes wherever you ride.
You want an enduro bike that pedals efficiently uphill and rips downhill. The extra grip that characterizes high-pivot bikes is interesting, but stability on descents is what really appeals to you. You're interested in versatility, and want to be able to strike the right balance between the speed of 29" wheels and the agility of 27.5" wheels.
Alpha Platinum aluminum frame with high-pivot suspension and idler, plus internal storage. 170 mm of travel front and rear thanks to a Fox Rhythm 36 fork with Float EVOL air spring and GRIP damping cartridge, and a Fox Performance Float X shock. Shimano XT drivetrain, a Bontrager Line Dropper telescopic seatpost and a mix of Bontrager Line Comp 30 Tubeless Ready wheels, 29" front and 27.5" rear, mounted on Rapid Drive hubs, give you enough gears for intense climbs.
The Slash 8 is ready to have fun on enduro rides with its long travel, great grip and long-lasting stability. It features excellent value and performance thanks to the FOX suspension package and Shimano XT drivetrain.
Main features:
- Its high-pivot suspension gives you incredible control on tricky descents, while the carefully tuned anti-squat and oversized rollers give surprisingly efficient pedaling.
- The long 170 mm travel front and rear is more than enough to handle big impacts and rock gardens.
- It comes with a wheel mix consisting of a fast 29" wheel at the front and a stiff but nimble 27.5" wheel at the rear. It can be converted to a 29er for added speed.
- You can modify the Slash's geometry to suit your riding style and the terrain, thanks to the adjustable suspension ratio via Mino Link.
- Internal storage space lets you carry your tools and snacks. Available on all models.
